State Policy Work
State Policy Work
In 2006, a team of state-level stakeholders came together to bring the Pyramid Model to Colorado. These stakeholders, named the Pyramid Model Partnership, worked to incubate the model in Colorado and build a place where the work can continue to grow statewide. This resulted in the new Pyramid Plus: The Colorado Center for Social Emotional Competence and Inclusion funded by the Colorado Department of Human Services. A core tenant of the work was to specifically address inclusion within the Pyramid Model work – thus the Pyramid Model Partnership is combining with the SpecialQuest state team to form the new Pyramid Plus State Policy Team.
The combined vision statement for the new Pyramid Plus State Policy Team:
To promote the social and emotional development and inclusion of all children, birth through five, through a collaborative professional development system that fosters and sustains the state-wide, high-fidelity use of the Pyramid Model, SpecialQuest approach, and other related evidenced-based practices integrated with relevant Colorado efforts.
